Meerut Blue Drum Murder Case: Muskan Rastogi, Lover Sahil Shukla Sentenced to Death

Meerut: A court in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut on Wednesday sentenced Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla to death for murdering her husband, Saurabh Rajput, dismembering his body and sealing the remains inside a blue plastic drum filled with cement.
The District Court had convicted the duo on September 30 of murder and concealing Rajput’s body.
According to the prosecution, the crime took place on March 3, 2025, when Rastogi allegedly sedated her husband before she and Shukla stabbed him to death. They subsequently dismembered his body and concealed the remains in the drum using a mixture of sand, water and cement.
The case witnessed 126 hearings, with the prosecution presenting 22 testimonies and a chain of circumstantial, technical and physical evidence. Call detail records, mobile tower locations and shopkeepers’ testimonies were among the key pieces of evidence presented against the accused.
The prosecution argued that the evidence established the duo’s guilt and sought the death penalty following their conviction.
Rajput’s family had earlier demanded justice in the case.
