Mayurbhanj ASI Suspended After Bribery Video Goes Viral

Baripada: In a swift action against corruption, Mayurbhanj Superintendent of Police (SP) Varun Guntupalli on Friday suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Minaketan Pradhan of Raruan police station after a video surfaced showing him allegedly accepting a bribe in broad daylight.

The video, which went viral on August 5 across social media and news platforms, reportedly captured the ASI taking money to release a seized motorcycle. The footage triggered widespread public outrage and raised concerns over integrity within the police force.

Acting on the incident, SP Guntupalli ordered an immediate inquiry. Based on the findings of the internal investigation, Pradhan was suspended earlier today.

The district police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and urged the public to report any such misconduct, calling the suspension a strong message against unethical practices in the force.
