Mayurbhanj: All schools declared holiday for heavy rainfall alert

Baripada: All the schools of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha have been declared holiday for today due to heavy to very heavy rainfall warning issued for the district on Friday.

As per reports, in view of the heavy to very heavy rainfall prediction due to the well-marked low-pressure area on the Bay of Bengal, all the government and private schools in Mayurbhanj district have been declared a holiday for today. The District Collector announced this earlier today.

It is to be noted that a red alert has been issued today for Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts of Odisha for heavy to very very heavy rainfall in different places of these districts. It has been predicted in the view of a well-marked low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal which will take the form of a depression in the next 12 hours. Later, it is likely to move west-northwestwards towards North Odisha and the southern West Bengal coast.
