Man Kills Father, Dumps Body in Pit in Odisha’s Deogarh

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old man allegedly killed his father in an inebriated state and dumped the body in a pit at Jambunali village under Kantabahal panchayat in Deogarh district.

According to police, the accused Dukhu Kisan attacked his father Budhu Kisan (53) with an axe on Tuesday night following a quarrel under the influence of alcohol. Budhu died on the spot due to grievous injuries.

At the time of the incident, Dukhu’s mother and wife were not present at home. Later, he allegedly dumped the body in a rainwater-filled pit near the house and covered it with palm leaves in an attempt to hide the crime.

The incident came to light when Dukhu’s mother and wife returned and, after noticing blood stains inside the house, informed the police. Acting swiftly, the police recovered the body and arrested Dukhu. A probe has been launched into the case.
