Make vehicle papers ready in 3 months: Odisha CM

(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): Chief Minister Naveen Pattanaik has made partial relaxation for the commuters from paying penalty for violation of traffic rules, as they will be provided 3 months additional time in hand to get their vehicle documents ready. The Transport Department has also been asked to augment public services, strengthen facilitation centres, open extra counters and conduct camps in public institutions to enable the motor vehicle users to update their compliance status.

The Chief Minister also directed the officials to handle the situation gently instead of being rude and aggressive with the commuters, who fail to produce necessary documents during driving the vehicles without obeying minimum traffic rules. This process will continue for three months to allow people time to ensure compliance.
