Maa Samaleshwari giving darshan in Dhabalmukhi Besha today

Sambalpur: Today is Mahalaya Amavasya. Maa Samaleswari, the presiding Goddess of Sambalpur in Odisha, will appear in Dhabalmukhi Besha.

While the Goddess appears in vermilion attire (Sindura Besha) throughout the year, she appears in white only during Mahalaya. This is called Ganga Darshan Besha and Maa Saraswati’s Besha.

Since Maa appears in Dhabalmukhi Besha once a year, thousands of devotees have gathered to witness the rare attire. The Mother Goddess will appear in this attire for two and a half days.
