Maa Majhighariani Temple Donation Boxes Yield Rs 1.4 Crore

Bhubaneswar: The donation boxes of Maa Majhighariani Temple were opened after a gap of six months on Sunday, revealing cash amounting to Rs 1.4 crore along with gold, silver, and foreign currencies.

The counting process, which began at around 9 am, continued for over eight hours and was carried out under strict security arrangements. Officials from the Endowment Department, Rayagada district administration, and members of the temple management committee were present throughout the process to ensure transparency.

More than 250 volunteers, including students and members of various organisations, took part in the meticulous counting of the offerings.

Temple authorities said the entire amount collected will be deposited in the Utkal Grameen Bank. The interest generated from the deposit will be utilised for the development of the temple and improvement of facilities for devotees.

Maa Majhighariani Temple, one of the prominent religious sites in southern Odisha, witnesses a steady flow of devotees throughout the year, resulting in substantial offerings during each counting cycle.
