Loudspeaker Timings Relaxed, Plastic Ban Enforced for Bali Jatra 2025 in Cuttack

Cuttack: The Cuttack district administration has eased loudspeaker restrictions for the upcoming Bali Jatra 2025, permitting their use until 11 pm to facilitate cultural festivities during the grand event.
Cuttack District Collector and Magistrate Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde approved the relaxation under Article 5(3) of the Cuttack Noise Pollution (Control) Act, 2000, citing public interest. The order will be applicable at the ‘Ganakabi Baishnaba Pani Manch’ and ‘Akhaya Mohanty Manch’, where various cultural programmes will be held from November 5 to 13.

In addition to these venues, renowned artists will also perform at the ‘Cuttack In Cuttack Manch’, adding to the festive spirit of the historic celebration.
To promote environmental sustainability, the district administration has also imposed a complete ban on single-use plastics at the Bali Jatra grounds.
This year’s edition of the festival is expected to witness a record footfall of nearly 50 lakh visitors across both the Upper and Lower Bali Jatra grounds.
Celebrated every year on the occasion of Kartika Purnima, Bali Jatra is recognized as Odisha’s largest trade and cultural fair. The event not only draws lakhs of visitors for shopping household goods, handicrafts, and wooden items but also commemorates Odisha’s rich maritime heritage through vibrant cultural performances.
