Liquor Seized from Bhadrak Medicine Store During Inspection

Bhadrak: In a startling revelation, a routine inspection by the Drug Inspector team at Shree Ganesh Medicine Store on Bypass Road in Bhadrak led to the recovery of several cartons filled with foreign liquor. The bottles were reportedly hidden inside the medical shop, prompting officials to immediately alert local police.

Further inquiry revealed that the store’s drug license had expired in 2022. Following the discovery, authorities sealed the establishment, and police seized the liquor from the premises.

Speaking about the incident, the Drug Inspector said, “It was our routine inspection. During the check, we found some liquor bottles. We have informed the local police for action. We have examined the drug license. Liquor-related part is not in our business. Police will take action. After the inspection, we will prepare a report and submit it to our higher authorities.”

Police have launched an investigation to determine how the liquor was stored inside the shop and whether it was being sold illegally. The incident has raised serious concerns over the misuse of the pharmacy’s license and its activities. Further action from authorities is awaited.
