Lifeguards Save 5 Tourists from Drowning at Puri Beach

Lifeguards at Puri’s Swargadwar beach saved five tourists from drowning after strong waves swept them away in Sector 10.
According to reports, a massive wave engulfed four tourists from Chhattisgarh and one from Maharashtra. In a dramatic rescue, lifeguards dived into the raging sea and pulled them to safety.
The rescued tourists are Swati Kanoji, Bhavan Kanoji, Shikha Kanoji, and Khageshwar Kanoji from Chhattisgarh, along with Krishna Kanoji from Maharashtra. After receiving first aid, all five were declared safe.
The lifeguards who carried out the rescue were Mahendra Behera, A. Bhagaban, K.D. Behera, and P. Tirupati. Their quick response prevented a major tragedy and reassured visitors at the beach.
Local authorities praised the lifeguards for their courage and vigilance, noting that such timely interventions highlight the importance of trained rescue teams at tourist hotspots.
