Leopard poisoned to death in Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A leopard was found dead in the Kusumadihi Reserve Forest under the Tamra Range of Bonai Forest Division in Sundargarh district.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the leopard may have died after consuming poisoned meat.

The RCCF, DFO and other investigating teams visited the spot and began an investigation into the incident.

As per reports, a few days earlier, a bull had been killed in the forest, reportedly attacked by a leopard. Locals are believed to have poisoned the bull’s carcass, following which the leopard consumed. the leopard reportedly died after consuming poisoned meat.

The dead bull and the carcass of the leopard have been seized for further examination.
