Leopard enters farmhouse in Narsinghpur

Narsinghpur: In a leopard and human conflict, the big cat got killed in Odisha’s Narsinghpur area in Cuttack and a youth sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred on Friday night at around 1 am at farmhouse in Anantprasad village under the Narsinghpur West forest range, where the wild animal entered the house.

As per reports, the leopard reportedly entered the farmhouse of the injured youth, identified as Subhranshu Bhol. Suddenly the pet dog started barking. The animal then confronted the dogs following which he attacked the youth.

In order to defend himself, the youth reportedly attacked the leopard with sharp weapon. During the confrontation, the animal sustained stab injuries and died on the spot. The youth suffered serious injuries to his head and other parts of the body. He was first provided medical assistance before being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack for advanced treatment. He is currently under observation.

On being informed,the Forest department officials reached the spot shortly after the incident, recovered the leopard’s carcass, and initiated an investigation what led to attack.
