Lawyer attempts self-immolation in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A lawyer died reportedly after attempting self-immolation in Pandra area of Bhubaneswar City on Thursday evening. The deceased lawyer has been identified as Deepak Kumar Sahu.
According to reports, Deepak Kumar went to the roof of his house this evening and set himself on fire by using petrol and died on the spot before he could be taken to the hospital for treatment. His entire body was charred due to the high intensity of the blaze.
While the exam reason what prompted the lawyer to take the drastic step is yet to be known, the neighbours claimed that he was under severe mental pressure since several days and was receiving treatment from a doctor.
The doctor though had advised Deepak to be free from any stress or worries, he continued to be under severe mental pressure, informed the neighbours.
In the evening today, he had reportedly gone to the market along with his daughter but died by self-immolating himself after returning home.
The lawyer’s self-immolation death has shocked and surprised everyone in the area. It is said that currently Deepak was the only male member of the family.
Police have started an investigation into the tragic incident and seized the body for postmortem. They are also reportedly interrogating to know the cause behind Deepak committing suicide.
