Land attack variant of BrahMos test-fires successfully

(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): A land-attack variant of BrahMos missile was successfully test-fired off the Coast of Odisha by the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday morning. The missile has been developed by the DRDO in association with a Russia-based rocket design bureau. BrahMos was fitted with increased indigenous equipment. It is a version used by the Indian Army, sources said.

The supersonic cruise missile was earlier tested in June this year. It was equipped with an upgraded guidance system. The DRDO which is studying the outcomes of the test objectives will release data later on Monday.
