Kusum Tete quits BJD

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Sundergarh, March 19: Kusum Tete, former chairperson of Sundergarh Development Council, on Tuesday resigned from the ruling Biju Janata Dal after being denied ticket to contest from the Sundergarh constituency.
Tete, notably, had also resented the induction of former Congress MLA Yogesh Singh in the party earlier.
A teary-eyed Tete told reporters that she was deeply hurt due to the decision of the party and was left with no alternative but quit the party.
She said during her stint in BJD she tried her best to strengthen the party in the district and was hopeful of being rewarded by the supremo.
“But I have been given a big jolt. Injustice has been done to me,” she said
