Khordha Police Step Up Security for Odisha CM’s Banpur Visit on January 7

Khordha: Khordha Police have made elaborate security and traffic arrangements for the visit of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to Banpur on January 7, 2026. The Chief Minister is scheduled to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of Godabarisha Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalaya at Paltan Padia, Banpur, and address a large public gathering.

Ahead of the visit, the Inspector General of Police, Central Range, along with the in-charge Superintendent of Police, Khordha, reviewed and briefed police personnel deployed for the event at Banpur.

Police sources said comprehensive arrangements have been put in place covering VIP security, venue protection, crowd management, access control, traffic regulation and route lining. Special emphasis has been given to ensuring smooth public movement and maintaining law and order, in view of the expected turnout of over 5,000 people.

Adequate deployment of police personnel, along with anti-sabotage checks, medical facilities, fire services and traffic diversions, has been arranged to deal with any contingency. Senior police officers are personally supervising the security arrangements to ensure the programme passes off peacefully.

Khordha Police have appealed to the public to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to traffic advisories for the smooth and successful conduct of the Chief Minister’s programme.
