Keonjhar: Youth stones minor boy to death for mobile phone

Anandpur: A youth allegedly stoned a minor boy to death for a mobile phone in Keonjhar district of Odisha recently. The incident took place in the Raighati village under Soso police station limits in Kebalipal panchayat of Anandpur sub-division of the district.

The victim has been identified as the minor son of Salia Purty and the accused has been identified as Kundia Ho of Raighati village under Kebalipali panchayat.

As per reports, Salia Purty’s minor son Ghosha Purty had earlier gone to work out of Odisha with Kundia Ho of that village. They had friendship there. There Ghosha Purty’s mobile phone was stolen. Later Ghosha Purty returned to his house back in Odisha.

During Raja festival, Ghosha Purty saw that Kundia Ho has kept his mobile phone. Later, Kundia Ho returned the mobile phone.

Last Sunday, Kundia Ho had called Ghosha to go to his friend’s house. Later, when Kundia returned to his house, Ghosha did not return. Accordingly, his family members searched for Ghosha but could not trace him out. Yesterday evening, the family received news that Ghosha’s body was lying near the Rugudi hill on the Mayurbhanj border.

On receiving the news, the family rescued Ghosha’s body from the hill and admitted it to the Anandpur Subdivisional Hospital. Ghosha’s father Salia Purti has filed a Police complaint in which it has been claimed that his son was stoned to death by Kundia Ho.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Soso police have initiated investigation. However, the accused is yet to be arrested. Further probe of the matter is underway.
