‘Kedarnath to Open for Local Pilgrims from May 4’

Dehradun: People from Uttarakhand will be able to visit the Kedarnath shrine from May 4, said Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat today. He said the state government has decided that all districts under the green zone will be “completely opened up” from May 4. Trivendra Singh Rawat said this while participating in a national media conclave.
“From May 4, we are going to completely open the green zone. People from Uttarakhand would be able to visit the Kedarnath shrine. We will ensure social distancing norms are followed,” Trivendra Singh Rawat said.
As per the list of red, orange and green zones announced by the central government, 10 out of 13 districts in Uttarakhand are in the green zone, two in orange and one in red zone.
Meanwhile, the CM said the state government has received applications from nearly 87,000 people who want to return to their homes in Uttarakhand.
“Nearly 26,000 people are from Delhi alone. We have demanded 12 trains. We have demanded trains from Mumbai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Gujarat etc. We are in favour of bringing people back but we will follow all medical norms,” he said.
