Kantabanji Sub-Jail Superintendent Suspended Over Alleged Misconduct

Bhubaneswar: The Jailor-cum-Superintendent of Kantabanji Sub-Jail, Santoshini Dash, has been suspended with immediate effect by the Director General of Prisons and Director of Correctional Services (DCS), Odisha.

According to an official notification issued by the Directorate of Prisons and Correctional Services, the suspension comes in view of a contemplated disciplinary proceeding against Dash on charges of dereliction of duty and grave misconduct.

During the suspension period, Dash has been directed to remain attached to the office of the Senior Superintendent, Circle Jail, Sambalpur. She has also been instructed not to leave headquarters without prior permission from the competent authority.

The order further states that she will be entitled to subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule 90 of the Orissa Service Code.

The action has been taken under the provisions of the Orissa Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1962, the notification added.
