Jio Reintroduces ₹299 Prime Membership Plan

Reliance Jio has brought back its ₹299 Prime membership plan shortly after Airtel removed its ₹299 prepaid recharge and increased the starting price of its unlimited plans to ₹349.
Jio said the ₹299 Prime membership will continue to be available to both existing prepaid and postpaid users. The company has also assured customers that the price will remain unchanged until September 5, 2027. Members will additionally get priority customer support.

The move comes amid efforts by telecom companies to streamline recharge plans and boost average revenue per user (ARPU).
Airtel’s earlier ₹299 plan offered 1GB daily data for 28 days. Its replacement, priced at ₹349, provides 1.5GB daily data, marking a 16.7% increase in the entry-level unlimited plan price.

Analysts have termed Airtel’s move a major prepaid portfolio overhaul as telecom operators continue their broader tariff rationalisation.
