Jharsuguda Among Hottest Places in India at 39°C

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Jharsuguda in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, making it one of the hottest places in the country.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Jharsuguda in Odisha and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh jointly recorded the highest day temperature in the country at 39 degrees Celsius each. They were followed by Akola in Maharashtra and Mahabubnagar in Telangana, both of which recorded 38.6 degrees Celsius.
In Odisha, as many as 20 places registered maximum temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius or above during the day. After Jharsuguda, Bhubaneswar and Hirakud were the hottest locations in the state, each recording 36.8 degrees Celsius. Cuttack registered a maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius.
The IMD stated that there is likely to be no significant change in maximum temperatures across districts of Odisha over the next six to seven days.
