Jharkhand Students Continue Agitation Despite Exam Cancellations, Demand CBI Investigation

Students protesting alleged irregularities in Jharkhand’s recruitment examinations have decided to continue their agitation despite the Hemant Soren-led government announcing the cancellation of several exams and recruitment processes.

The protesters welcomed the government’s decision but said their key demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe has still not been accepted. Student leader Ravindra Paswan said the cancellation of the examinations was a significant step, but the movement would continue until an independent investigation is ordered.
According to Paswan, the students have achieved an important victory after 24 days of protest, but they are not prepared to call off the agitation yet. He said the protesters would continue their hunger strike until the demand for a CBI investigation is fulfilled.

The agitation has been underway for 24 days, with students raising concerns over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

The students are now pressing the government for a CBI inquiry, saying that cancelling the examinations alone will not address their concerns or establish accountability for the alleged irregularities.
