‘Jeevan Rakshya’ Drive: Central Range Police Collect ₹36.86 Lakh in Fines

Cuttack: The Central Range Police, Cuttack, conducted an intensive road safety enforcement campaign under Operation “Jeevan Rakshya” from January 7 to January 14, 2026, aimed at ensuring safer roads and promoting responsible driving behaviour across the region.
During the eight-day drive, a total of 9,338 vehicles were checked across all districts under the Central Range. These included 34 buses (both commercial and government-run) and 37 heavy transport vehicles. The enforcement exercise covered key districts such as Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha, and Nayagarh, with special focus on traffic rule violations and adherence to road safety norms.

Police imposed fines amounting to ₹36.86 lakh on violators as part of the strict enforcement measures. Officials noted that no suspicious activities were detected during the operation, highlighting its preventive and deterrent impact.
The Central Range Police said Operation “Jeevan Rakshya” reflects their continued commitment to saving lives, improving road discipline, and strengthening road safety through sustained enforcement and awareness initiatives.
