Jagannath Temple Committee Awaits Govt Nod on Counting of Ratna Bhandar Jewels

The Jagannath Temple Managing Committee approved the draft guidelines for the Counting of Ratna Bhandar Jewels during its recent meeting.

Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee announced that the draft will be sent to the state government for approval. Once the government clears it, the final announcement will be made.

Padhee emphasized that the counting must not affect the sanctity of temple traditions. He noted that the administration will prioritize smooth conduct and clarity once the government grants approval.

The committee also reviewed several other matters. A new set of Ratna Palanka for Lord Jagannath has been prepared and will be installed at an auspicious time. Decisions regarding the reopening of Shree Gundicha Temple will also depend on the alignment of dates and rituals.

The committee introduced a nominal entry fee of Rs 10 for visitors, while children and persons with disabilities will be exempt. Padhee clarified that the fee is not intended to increase revenue but to regulate crowd management.

Additionally, parking fees at four Bhakta Niwas facilities have been reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 240, offering relief to devotees.
