Internet services to remain suspended in Malkangiri till Thursday

Malkangiri: The internet services suspension in Malkangiri district of Odisha over enmity between two villages has been extended till 12 PM on Thursday,

Earlier, an unrest erupted between residents of two villages over a woman’s decapitated body recovery. The district administration has suspended internet services for another 18 hours as a precautionary measure. Earlier the suspension had been announced till 12 pm of Wednesday.

The district and police administrations are taking measures to restore peace, including deploying security personnel and installing CCTV cameras in MV-26 village.

The Odisha Chief Minister has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the victim’s family, and the district administration has handed over Rs 30,000 to her son.
