IndiaOne Air Plane Makes Forced Landing Near Rourkela; Six Injured, All Stable

Bhubaneswar: Six people were injured after an IndiaOne Air aircraft operating on the Bhubaneswar–Rourkela route made a forced landing near Jalda in the Raghunathpali block of Rourkela in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Saturday. No fatalities were reported.
The aircraft, a Caravan 208 bearing registration number VT-KSS, had departed from Bhubaneswar at 12.27 pm with two pilots and four passengers on board. According to the Directorate of Civil Aviation, the plane was around eight nautical miles short of Rourkela when it encountered a technical issue and was forced to land.

Officials said the timely and skilled action of the pilots helped avert a major tragedy. Following the incident, the district administration rushed to the site and immediately shifted the injured to nearby hospitals.
Three passengers are undergoing treatment at J.P. Hospital in Rourkela, while the two pilots and one passenger have been admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital. Authorities confirmed that all six injured persons are stable and under medical observation.
The incident has been reported to the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and other concerned authorities. As per aviation norms, IndiaOne Air will submit a detailed report to the DGCA and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) for further investigation.
The Directorate of Civil Aviation under the Commerce and Transport Department is closely monitoring the situation and is extending necessary assistance to the passengers through the district administration.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the situation and directed officials to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.
“I am deeply saddened to learn about the plane crash in Rourkela. It is reassuring that all passengers are safe. I am personally monitoring the situation and pray for their speedy recovery,” the Chief Minister said.
Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena is also monitoring the developments. The airline is expected to issue a separate statement on the incident.
