Indian Shooters Begin Final Asian Games Training Camp in Bhopal

India’s shooting contingent has begun its final training camp in Bhopal ahead of the Asian Games 2026, which will be held in Japan later this month. The camp is being conducted at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy.

A total of 18 shooters—nine men and nine women—are participating in the camp. The squad features leading names such as Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar.

Under the guidance of expert coaches, the shooters will train in rifle and pistol events, with emphasis on technique, fitness, recovery and mental preparation. They will also use the academy’s modern 10-metre, 25-metre and 50-metre shooting ranges.

The Indian team had also held a specialised training camp in Bhopal last month. The shooters are scheduled to depart for the Asian Games after the current camp concludes on September 14.
