India Condemns Attacks on Saudi Civilian Infrastructure, Says Indian Embassy Monitoring Diaspora Safety

New Delhi: India on Wednesday strongly condemned attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, calling them “totally unacceptable” and expressing solidarity with the Saudi government in defence of its sovereignty.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India hoped peace and normalcy would return to the region soon. He confirmed that the Indian Embassy was in regular contact with the Indian community and issuing advisories amid security concerns and flight disruptions.

Flight operations to and from Riyadh, Dammam, Medina and Jeddah have been affected, impacting travellers between India and Saudi Arabia. However, some Saudi Arabian Airlines services continue to operate, Jaiswal said.

Referring to the October 10 attack that injured 12 people, including 11 Indians, he said one Indian national had died, while three of the remaining 11 injured had been discharged. Eight continue to receive hospital treatment, including four in intensive care. The Indian Embassy assisted the deceased’s family in conducting the last rites in Riyadh and is monitoring the condition of those injured.

The Embassy has advised Indian nationals to remain calm and vigilant, stay indoors during aerial attacks, follow local authorities’ instructions and refrain from circulating videos or news related to the ongoing developments.
