India Beat Zimbabwe By 23 Runs
Harare: The Men in Blue secured a comprehensive 23-run victory in the third T20I against Zimbabwe, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series in Harare on Wednesday. Stellar performances from Captain Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad helped India set an imposing total of 182, while young spin all-rounder Washington Sundar’s three-wicket haul ensured the hosts were restricted to 159.
Gill top-scored with 66 runs off 49 balls, marking his first fifty as captain, while the in-form Gaikwad contributed a rapid 49 runs off just 28 balls. Their combined efforts powered India to a commanding total at Harare Sports Club.
Zimbabwe struggled early in their innings, losing key wickets in the powerplay. Sundar’s impressive figures of 3 for 15 played a pivotal role in disrupting their chase, guiding India to a decisive win. India dictated terms right from the outset as Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a quickfire start with a 15-run opening over, putting Zimbabwe on the back foot from the very beginning.
