IMD Issues Yellow Warning, Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Odisha Till August 25

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across several parts of Odisha till August 25. Districts including Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balasore, and Bargarh are expected to receive heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms today.
A yellow warning has been issued for 20 districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

According to the Met Centre, rainfall activity will intensify in North and Western Odisha on August 23 and 24. Residents are advised to remain alert to possible disruptions.
Meanwhile, Dhenkanal recorded the highest rainfall on Wednesday at 27.4 mm, followed by Jagatsinghpur (21.1 mm), Paralakhemundi (15.2 mm), and Talcher (13.8 mm).
