IMD Issues Yellow Warning for Cold Wave in Several Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for cold wave conditions across several districts of Odisha over the next few days, cautioning residents to remain alert.

According to the IMD’s mid-day bulletin, cold wave conditions are likely to prevail on January 15 in the districts of Cuttack, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, and Jharsuguda.

The warning has been further extended for January 16, covering Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Sundergarh, and Jharsuguda, where similar cold wave conditions are expected.

For January 17, the IMD has predicted that cold wave conditions may occur in isolated pockets across a wider range of districts, including Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Sundergarh, and Jharsuguda. A yellow warning has been issued for all these districts.

The IMD has advised people, especially the elderly, children, and those with health conditions, to take necessary precautions against the cold weather.
