IMD Issues Yellow Warning for 13 Odisha Districts, Forecasts Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow warning for 13 districts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over the next three hours.
The districts likely to be affected include Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.

According to a nowcast warning released by the IMD at 1:45 pm, these areas are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kmph within the next three hours.
Residents in the affected districts have been advised to remain alert, keep track of weather updates, and move to safer locations to avoid lightning strikes and related risks.
