IMD Issues Severe Heat Wave Warning for 5 Days

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued severe heat wave warning for Odisha for the next five days.
Severe heat wave, heat wave, hot and humid & warm night very likely over the districts of Odisha during 22nd to 26th April 2025, said the IMD in its latest bulletin.

Day-1 (22nd April 2025):
ORANGE WARNING:
- Severe Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda.
- Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Balangir, Sundargarh and Sambalpur.
YELLOW WARNING:
- Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur.
- Hot and Humid Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
- Warm Night Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Balangir.
Day-2 (23rd April 2025):
ORANGE WARNING:
- Severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda.
- Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Balangir, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Sonepur.
YELLOW WARNING:
- Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Nupada and Deogarh.
- Hot and humid conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.
- Warm night conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Balangir.
Day-3 (24th April 2025):
ORANGE WARNING:
- Severe Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda.
- Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Balangir, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Sonepur.
YELLOW WARNING:
- Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Nupada and Deogarh.

ORANGE WARNING:
- Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balangir and Bargarh.
YELLOW WARNING:
- Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi and Sambalpur.
- Hot and Humid Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
Maximum Temperature Forecast:
- Maximum Temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2-4°C during next 3 days, No Large Change for next 2 days and fall by 2-4°C thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
- Maximum temp likely to be above 43°C over the districts of Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh and Nuapada.
