Illegal Ghee Manufacturing Unit Busted on Bargarh Outskirts, Two Detained

Bargarh: In a major crackdown on food adulteration, the police and district administration conducted a surprise raid late Tuesday night near Barahagoda Square on the outskirts of Bargarh town, following allegations of counterfeit ghee production.
The joint operation was led by Bargarh Sub-Collector Prasanna Kumar Pandey, with active participation from officials of the Bargarh Rural Police Station. During the raid, authorities detected an illegal ghee manufacturing unit operating in the area.

The unit was sealed on the spot, and officials seized a substantial quantity of ghee along with raw materials and equipment used in the manufacturing process. Two individuals allegedly connected with the illegal operation were detained for questioning.
According to sources, a detailed investigation is underway to determine the scale of the operation and identify its distribution network. Legal action will be initiated against those involved based on the findings of the probe.
Local residents alleged that such illicit activities had been continuing for a long time on the outskirts of the town. The incident has sparked widespread concern among the public regarding food safety and the effectiveness of regulatory enforcement.
Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible and stated that inspections across the district will be intensified to prevent similar illegal practices in the future.
