Illegal foreign cigarettes seized at Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized more than 250 illegal foreign cigarettes worth around Rs 10 lakh at the Bhubaneswar Airport on Tuesday. The DRI has also detained five person in connection with this.

According to reports, the accused were bringing bags full of foreign cigarettes from Dubai. Five persons from Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh were detained and questioned in connection with the case. During the search, two iPhone 17 mobile phones were also seized from them.

The customs department has detained them and is interrogating them while investigating the matter.
