Hundi to Be Shifted, Ornaments Headed to Ratna Bhandar Sept 23

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Tuesday announced two key decisions regarding the management of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.

The first relates to the long-debated Dhadi Darshan (queue-based darshan system). The system had faced obstacles due to the presence of hundi (donation boxes) inside the temple. With the Chief Minister approving the transfer of the hundis, discussions are now underway to finalize their new location. A trial run of the dhadi darshan system will soon be introduced, aimed at ensuring a smoother darshan experience for devotees.

In a parallel development, the temple administration has decided to shift the ‘Sindhuka’ containing ornaments to the Ratna Bhandar on September 23. The decision, taken after deliberations by the Ratna Bhandar Sub-Committee, will be executed in the presence of the temple administration and a high-level supervisory committee.

Officials said both steps are expected to streamline temple management and enhance security while improving facilities for devotees.
