Hospital OPDs to remain closed for 2 hours due to OMSA protest

Bhubaneswar: The OPDs of the hospitals in Odisha will remain closed for 2 hours starting from today as the OMSA has staged a protest for fulfilling of their 18 charter demands.

As per the information received, the OPDs will remain closed for 2 hours from today. OMSA has taken such an extreme decision. According to the protesting doctors, since the government has not listened to the demands of the doctors, they have decided this to press their demands.

However, due to this it has been expected that service to patient will be largely hampered and the situation may worsen due to the closure of OPDs in various government hospitals from 9 am to 11 pm. However, medical colleges have been excluded from this.

The Junior Doctors Association has also agreed to this decision. OMSA is protesting for the fulfillment of 18 demands such as promotion, salary increase, safety at work etc.
