Bhubaneswar: The Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2025-26 is set to return to Bhubaneswar, with the final leg of the tournament beginning on January 17 at the iconic Kalinga Hockey Stadium. Hockey India on Tuesday announced that tickets for the matches, which went live at 11:00 am IST, are available free of cost for fans.
The league will feature an impressive lineup of eight men’s teams and four women’s teams, competing in fast-paced matches under newly revamped formats. The grand finale is scheduled for January 26, marking the culmination of the season in the hockey hub of India.

In the men’s competition, Vedanta Kalinga Lancers are currently leading the points table after the first phase held in Chennai. Meanwhile, SG Pipers have already secured a place in the women’s final by finishing as table toppers.
Hero Hockey India League Governing Committee Chairperson Dr Dilip Tirkey said the decision to make tickets free was aimed at boosting fan participation. “As the Hero Hockey India League returns to Bhubaneswar, there is a lot of excitement among hockey fans. By offering free tickets, we hope to encourage more people from across Odisha to come and enjoy thrilling hockey matches,” he said.
Governing Committee member Bhola Nath Singh echoed similar sentiments, stating that the league’s final in Bhubaneswar is expected to witness a packed stadium. “Hero HIL will culminate in Bhubaneswar on January 26, and we invite fans to be part of #hockeykajashn. Our aim has always been to expand the fan base across regions,” he said.
