Headless body recovered after 12 hours in Kandhamal

Baliguda: In a tragic incident a couple got buried under the soil following a landslide at a under construction bridge work site in Kandhamal district of Odisha yesterday. And after 12 hours of tough operation one of the bodies has been recovered in a headless condition. The other body had been recovered yesterday. The incident took place in the Baliguda area of the district.
As per the information received, the rescue teams have recovered the headless body of a man, identified as Swami Krishnaya, who was buried under a landslide at Jadabanda Ghat near Katarisahi in Kandhamal district.
The body of his wife, Yelma, was recovered yesterday. The couple, from Nalgonda district in Hyderabad, was trapped under the landslide while working at a site of bridge construction.
The rescue operation involved removing soil from near the base wall with machines, assisted by police and fire brigade teams throughout the night. Tower lights were used to accelerate the operation, and the body was recovered after digging about 25 to 30 feet near the base wall.
