Hari Babu Kambhampati Takes Oath as Odisha Governor

Bhubaneswar: Hari Babu Kambhampati was sworn in as the Governor of Odisha at the oath taking ceremony held at the Abhishek hall of the Governor’s House in the capital city of Odisha on Friday. Kambhapati became the 27th Governor of Odisha.

As per reports, Hari Babu Kambhapati took oath as the new Governor of Odisha a little ago today. He was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh.

Born on June 15, 1953, in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, Kambhampati has a strong educational background, having completed his B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. from Andhra University. He showed keen interest in politics since his college days. In 1971 he started his political career with the Andhra Pradesh Janata Party. Later in 1991 and in 1993 he joined BJP as a party worker.

In 1999 he was elected as MLA from the Vishakhapatnam constituency. In 2014, he was elected as MP from the same constituency. On July 6, 2021 he was appointed as the Governor of Mizoram. On December 24, he was declared as the new Governor of Odisha.
