Govt invites application for 35th and 36th State Film Awards

Bhubaneswar: The Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department of the Odisha government has invited application for the 35th State Film Awards-2023 and 36th State Film Awards-2024.

As per the notification issued by the department, only the producers or their representatives can submit their application (films) through via either registered post or speed post or parcel by October 4, 2025.

However, only the films that obtained a film certificate between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023 will be eligible for the 35th State Film Awards-2023. Likewise, the films that got the certificates between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024 can apply for the 36th State Film Awards-2024.

Likewise, the writers/authors can apply for the best article award on Odia films, written in Odia or English, by submitting ten copies of their book/monograph to the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department by October 4, 2025.

Procedure for entry of the films

• The film shall be entered only by its Producer or by his authorized person.
• A film may be entered for all the awards or for any one category.
• The Producer shall submit his/her entry in the Entry Form given in Schedule- Il in duplicate. The fort” shall be complete in all respect and shall be accompanied by all materials mentioned in Rule 9 failing which the entry is liable to be rejected.
• A soft copy of the film as certified by the Central Board of Film Certification.
• A non-refundable entry fee of Rs 3000 for feature films and Rs 1500 for non-feature films (subject to change of amount as and when necessary).
• 10 copies of the synopsis in the original language if the entry is a feature fitm or 10 copies of the Text of the commentary in original language in case of non-feature film.
• 10 copies of the lyrics, if any, each in original language containing the name of the Lyricist, Singer, Music Director, Choreographer.
• Short biographical sketches of Producer, Director, Story writer, Screen Play writer, dialogue writer, Leading and Supporting Artists, Cameraperson, Animator/Special Effects Designer, Audiographer, Editor, Art Director, Costume Designer, Lyricist, Music Director and Play Back Singer, provided that if a film is being entered for specific award/awards, biographical sketches should relate to the persons who are to be considered for the award/awards.
• Two copies of the certificate of the Central Board of Film Certification self-attested by the applicant, provided that the Producer may be required to produce the certificate in original for verification.
• Undertaking by the Producer and the Director in non-judicial stamp paper that the film is original and is not a dubbed/ revised/ copied/ remake version of any film.
• Undertaking by the Story writer in non-judicial stamp paper that the story of the film is original and is not a revised/copied.
• Authorisation by the Producer of the film in case the Producer is not the Applicant.
