Govt directs ban of Single use plastic in offices

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to reduce the use of Single use Plastic, the Odisha government has taken a strict stance. The State government has directed to ban the use single use plastic in all government offices.

Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu of the Forest and Environment Department issued a notification to the departmental Secretaries regarding the same. He directed the respective Secretaries of several Departments of the Odisha government to put a ban on the use of Single use plastics in the offices.

In accordance with the new government directive, the single use plastics used in the flower bouquets at government offices will be banned. Similarly, the plastic used in gift wrapping, the plastic cups and plates used for the food arrangements in government meetings will also be banned.

In a move to make the environment greener and cleaner this movement was taken.
