Govt authorises Depts to procure AI tools for smarter governance

Bhubaneswar: As per the instructions of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, an official order has been issued by the GA Department empowering all departments to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to strengthen administrative efficiency and enhance the skills of government employees.

This initiative underscores the State’s commitment to administrative reforms and good governance through technology-driven transformation.

The Departments are encouraged to integrate AI tools into routine operations to streamline workflows and improve data-driven decision-making.

The move aims to build proficiency in AI-enabled tools among officers and staff, equipping them to meet emerging administrative challenges.

Each department is permitted to procure one AI tool (basic version, above the free tier) to support efficient functioning and training.

The Departments must ensure that no secret or confidential documents are uploaded to any external AI platform.
