Govt Assures Fuel Availability, Urges Public to Ignore Rumours

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas reviewed the national fuel supply and directed all states to ensure the uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and gas.
Virtual Review Meeting
Senior officials, including Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg and Food Supplies Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, joined the virtual meeting from Lok Seva Bhawan. The ministry emphasised that refineries are operating at full capacity and there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or CNG.
Public Advisory
Officials urged citizens not to panic or hoard fuel based on social media rumours. The ministry clarified that fuel prices remain stable and supply chains are functioning normally.
Regulatory Measures
The government advised states to enforce the Essential Commodities Act to prevent black marketing. Commercial establishments will receive a priority supply of PNG over LPG.
Monitoring and Outreach
District and state-level control rooms will operate 24×7 to monitor fuel supply and submit daily reports. Authorities will launch awareness campaigns to counter misinformation and reassure the public.
