Gopalpur Beach Festival Rescheduled, To Be Held From January 27

Bhubaneswar: The four-day Gopalpur Beach Festival will now be held from January 27 to January 30, 2026, in the picturesque coastal town of Gopalpur in Odisha’s Ganjam district, officials said on Wednesday.

The festival, which was earlier scheduled to commence on January 22, has been rescheduled to align with ceremonial commitments and the availability of special guests, including the Governor and the Chief Minister of Odisha.

Announcing the revised dates during a preparatory meeting, Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena said that Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati will inaugurate the festival, while the closing ceremony on January 30 will be attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

“Initially, the festival was planned from January 22. However, considering the schedules of the dignitaries, the dates have been revised to January 27–30. The event will highlight Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and give a major boost to tourism in the region,” the minister said.

The Gopalpur Beach Festival is expected to draw large crowds, featuring live music and dance performances, exhibitions of local handicrafts, beach-based activities, and a variety of regional cuisines. Tourists and cultural enthusiasts from across Odisha and other parts of the country are likely to attend the annual event.
