Global Visa Application Centre Approved in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a major relief for international travellers from Odisha, the state government has approved the establishment of a Global Visa Application Center in Bhubaneswar, ending the long-standing need for residents to travel to cities like Kolkata, Delhi, or Hyderabad for visa-related services.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has given formal approval for setting up the centre at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal building in the Baramunda area of the state capital. The Odisha government will provide around 3,000 square feet of space for the facility.

The decision has been widely welcomed by residents, who have been demanding a visa application centre in Bhubaneswar for several years. Once operational, the centre is expected to significantly ease the process of international travel by offering visa application and related services within the state.

Officials said the move reflects the government’s commitment to improving citizen-centric services and enhancing Bhubaneswar’s infrastructure as an emerging regional hub for international connectivity.
