Ganjam: Driver & Passer-by Killed in Bus Accident

Berhampur: As many as two people died after a bus met with an accident in Laxminarayanpur square under Digapahandi police station limits in Ganjam district last night. The driver died on the spot and another passerby was also killed in the accident.

The deceased has been identified as Dibakar Behera of Jankia and the helper has been critically injured. The injured has been rushed to the Digapahandi Community Health Centre.

According to information, a private bus named Binapani was coming from Bhubaneswar. The bus would have reached the last stoppage at Turubudi so there were no passengers in it. The bus driver lost control and rammed into a rest shed in the area.

One person passing by the rest shed was killed as the bus hit him. Following the collision, the driver and the passer-by both were killed on the spot.

The fire brigade rushed to the spot to rescue the driver trapped inside the vehicle. The injured and the deceased were rushed to the hospital by an ambulance. Police started an investigation in the matter.
