Ganja Worth ₹3.7 Lakh Seized; Five Arrested in Twin NDPS Cases

Bhubaneswar: Excise Intelligence & Enforcement Bureau (EI & EB), Unit-II, Cuttack seized around 37 kg of ganja and arrested five persons after detecting two NDPS cases on Friday. The raids were conducted at Tangi Toll Gate and Manguli Chhaka under Tangi police limits.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sisir Gahir (26), Sisdev Sahu (31), Saraswati Roy (39), Sadhana Mondal (39), and Tuktuki Mondal (35). All five were forwarded to judicial custody under provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.

The raid was carried out by a team comprising Inspector Dhiren Kumar Behera, Inspector Abani Kumar Mohapatra, SI Dibyajyoti Satyaprakash, ASI Kishore Chandra Rout, and constables Ranjan Kumar Patra, Kishan Kumar Sabut, Aswini Kumar Parida, Biswanath Bhoi, Prakash Kumar Satapathy, Rajni Panchabhaya, and Sumitra Samal.

Officials stated that intensified enforcement drives will continue to curb illegal drug trafficking in the region.
