Free Entry to Konark Sun Temple Today for World Heritage Week

Bhubaneswar: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has announced free entry to the iconic Konark Sun Temple today as part of the World Heritage Week celebrations.

The move aims to encourage tourism and give visitors an opportunity to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site without any financial barrier. The 13th-century temple, famous for its majestic chariot-shaped structure with 24 intricately carved wheels and seven horses, remains one of India’s most celebrated cultural landmarks.

With the announcement of free entry, a surge in tourist footfall is expected, making it a busy day for local authorities and vendors. The ASI has put in place necessary arrangements to ensure smooth crowd management and an enjoyable experience for all visitors.

The initiative is part of efforts to raise awareness about the need to protect and preserve India’s historical and cultural heritage.
