Four Critical in OSRTC Bus-Truck Collision in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: At least four persons sustained critical injuries after an Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus collided head-on with a truck in Dhenkanal district during the early hours of Saturday.
The mishap occurred around 3 a.m. on National Highway 149 near Domuhani under the Parjang police limits. According to reports, the OSRTC bus was en route from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela when a speeding coal-laden truck, coming from the opposite direction, rammed into it with great force.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the truck was completely mangled, while the front portion of the passenger bus also sustained extensive damage. Three passengers onboard the bus and the truck driver suffered grievous injuries in the crash.
Upon receiving information, Parjang police rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured were initially taken to a nearby hospital, but as their condition deteriorated, doctors referred them to higher medical facilities for advanced treatment.
While the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, police have registered a case and begun an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the collision.
